It looks as if the idea of a meet up is a good one so now we just need to decide a date.
The venue would be close to Lanark in south west Scotland. It's around a five hour drive from Derbyshire and Inverness, an hour from Edinburgh, two hours from Kelso and about 2.5 to 3hrs from Barnard Castle.
The idea is we use the concept of playing with groundwork and what you can do with youngsters and older ponies as an excuse to go over some basic stuff, play with ponies, see each other and eat good food. I thought we'd have a look at clicker training, basic groundwork exercises like in the physio DVD and some concepts of life proofing youngsters to things like tarps, large gym balls etc and what that entails.
The poll allows you to tick all of the boxes so just tick all the dates that work for you and we'll see if everyone who wants to come can do the same date.
I've got grass livery spots in electric fence fields for ponies and camping in the field or woods and sleeping bag on the floor space for people.
I also have a local contact with a very good B&B who also does small self catering holiday cottages and pony B&B if people want a little more luxury. She has been known to take dogs too.

Only the 17th of July might not suit me so far Heather, I'll have to check if my son could be around to Clova sit then Tom could stay for the day as well

Sorry for not replying sooner, trying to co-ordinate 3 diaries - work, home and RDA - without any time to do it in!

Valerie Russell has kindly agreed to mention this in the News from the natives as well in the Scottish and Northern Equestrian in case anyone who isn't on here and is a Dales pony enthusiast wants to come along.
If 9th July is OK for Valerie and Richy that's my preferred date.

Hi Heather, really just thought about this properly, either 9th or 16th good for me if I can come, provisionally with Charlie, it sounds a lovely get-together

OK, I'll set the date and details up in Events then.
Zelda - would it be OK for me to contact the DPS and put it up as an area event?

I would love to come but would only be able to make the 9th as we go to America the following week, I'm not sure I would want to bring Alf, partly as he is such a little monster at the moment and partly because of the distance, but if I could come and spectate/get some tips? that would be great.

We can cope with little monsters I can understand the distance thing though, I have relatives in Matlock. You'd be more than welcome and I've picked the 9th so you can practice you're American horse terms with us before you go.
