My very gorgeous vet rang me today, the vet from liverpool has sent the prescription for liverpool cream to treat Dans sarcoids. He has got to come 5 times to apply the cream every other day!! We are going to claim of my insurance as it will cost about £600 hes confident that the teatment will get rid of the dam things once and for all, which is great as its something thats been hanging over me for about 4 years!! i think im going to take some pictures now, during and after to see how well they heal. i cant wait for my lovely boy to be free of them

Oh good, what a relief for you. Good idea to take before, during and after pics - they will be very helpful. Sarcoids seem to be becoming an icreasingly common problem. Hope the treatment does the job quickly and Dan is soon sarcoid free.

I'm another firm believer in before and after pics. They help you to see the changes clearly. Best of luck with the cream

Love the pics of your helper - he's so cute!
Dan's sarcoids don't look too big so hopefully the cream will do the trick quickly.

my boy has had his last treatment today and boy they look horrible but the vet is pleased. here are some pics.. if i can get them in the right order as the camera dates are playing up!! treatment 3 treatment 4 treatment 5 next leg treatment 3 treatment 4 treatment 5 ones between his back legs, these are differrant from the front ones and are nodule ones that havent got as big a root!! treatment 3 treatment 4 treatment 5 when i took the last pics today i ran the vet as i was so concerned about the size of the swelling compared to how they sweeled on the other days, but apparently that is really good and the cream is working well.. its hard to see dan like this but hes seems fine and has behaved so well for the vet each time he has come even though he has been so sore, but i think the pain killers have helped so much. the boy even stood as good as gold while he rasped his teeth this morning... the vet is coming back again at the begining of september to see how we are doing..

It must be very hard for you to watch poor Dan going through the treatment but good to know it is working well. They are horrid things, sarcoids, aren't they? Quest had one which popped out complete with root and the root was huge. Harvey had a little one on his sheath which has completely gone now.
Thanks for posting these pics. It will be interesting to compare the pics now and in a few weeks time. Hopefully Dan will be completely back to normal and sarcoid free in a few weeks.

it is good to see how they are doing isnt it Pam..
i was saying to the vet il be so glad to see them gone as iv found peoples reactions very hurtful.. like "oh thats cancer isnnt it" and " dont get him to close to my horse" and " i dont want him in the field with my horse" my boy is such a sweet gentleman things said like that towards him were awful, and have had a few fall outs with people as im not all that good at keeping my mouth shut lol!! but the vet told me that accutually 20% of the uk population of horses has some sort of sarcoid.
il post a few more in a week to see the progress, it will be nice for me to look back when hopefully they have all gone

A horse at our yard had a couple last year which had to have some radio-active cream put onto them, he had to kept WELL away from everyone else for a good 5 months; his perfectly fine now and not a sarcoid in site Im shocked at the peoples reactions you've received
