Incidentally, approximately 10 years ago my husband hand-pulled over 2000 flowering ragwort plants from a friend's field. 6 months later he became ill with liver damage. His liver function was impaired by 30%. He rarely drinks alcohol, he had not knowingly suffered a virus and tests for hepatitis all proved negative. The conclusion of his doctor was that ragwort had caused the problem, but no, I do not have any conclusive proof of this. No-one does. Just the measured opinion of medical practitioners, and that will do for me!
The measured opinion of the experts in this field is that the biochemistry does not allow this to happen.
I cite, inter alia, the work of Dr A. R Mattocks of the Toxicology Unit of the UK's Medical Research Council Laboratories.
Furthermore you say "no-one does" in fact if this were that kind of poisoning it is quite easy to confirm.
I have seen people make claims like this before. When challenged or examined in the light of the facts they are shown to be untrue.
If your husband does have liver disease and I am correct then the medics should be looking for another cause in case something else preventable is occuring that will get worse in the future and lead to his death.
If of course your story is correct, and given its incongruence with medcal knowledge I am inclined to disbelieve it.
I don't really care if you look at what I post anyway. Very few people click on links in forums generally. It is a well established fact.
But if you are the loving wife you claim to be , and your somewhat unlikely story is correct ,and the doctors weren't competent and didn't progress with the proper medical tests, then don't you owe it to your husband to find out more?
I am not a troll. I suspect that some people prefer to dismiss me as such rather than have their pet theories debunked.
I don't think playing the man rather than the ball like this is acceptable.
The reality is that when people do look at the science it is quite clear that I am right.
Just look at the thread.Whenever anyone says I am incorrect I have a comprehensive answer rebuting it.
If I didn't know what I was talking about then I would not be able to do this.
Incidentally you should look at this site. It is written by a horse owner in conjuction with a large number of experts.
She was as convinced as people here by the misinformation. Until that is, she looked at the science.
