I use a large plastic dustbin to fill haynets - the empty net goes into the bin, then I fold the top (open end) of the net over the top of the bin, so it is tucked out over the sides. In goes the hay and all spillings are contained. As the bin is deep, it fits a good lot of hay in.
Another thing to use is an old mineral tub for cattle - most farms have piles of them! As long as the top of the haynet opens wide enough to fold over the top they do a great job too. They are not so deep as a dustbin but still fit a couple of wedges in.
I've filled nets this way all winter - much quicker and tidier.
