Trollie-Pollie (Amy) has only got 6 weeks to go! She's "Am I bovvered? Is this a bovvered face?? Can you pls remove the thorn from my nose? Touch my t*ts and you DIE!" I'm "OMG!!! Where will she have it? Stable or field? Cake or death?? Will she be all right?? Will it be a colt or a filly?? How can I turn my electric into foal friendly fencing?? There's too much grass in my separate field, will she get laminitis?? She's already bagging up and her bum's gone wobbly, is it too soon?? Argggghhh!!!" Anyway, here's some piccies, if Sue (or another mod) can add a voting thingy to bet whether it's a girl or a boy we can have a bit of a laugh! My money's on a colt cos I want a filly! What does everyone else think?? But you have to say she looks beautiful with the "iron in the black" !! (? is that the right phrase for her grey bits whilst she moults??) This is the "before" pic at Bakewell last year: And now, lovely left! And the right! Tummy close up! At least my bulge makes my bum look smaller! Do you do one in a double-D?? I am soooo scared in case anything goes wrong (or it's just wind! - though I did feel a kick the other day!) as she's a bit old at 15 for a first foal. Please send her good vibes! She's due on the Bakewell F&D day (22nd June) so pray for an early delivery! Amy will never win a showing class unless the judge has a white stick, but to me she is the most beautiful pony in the world!

I have told you - Amy will be absolutely fine. She does not look at all worried does she, and looks really well. And of course she will have a filly!!
Big Molly, our mare had her last foal, a big colt, and we reckon she must have been in her twenties. She was fine, the foal was smashing ......
Its only natural for you to have an attack of the jitters. Its going to be a wonderful experience for you, so sit back, wait and then enjoy watching Amy with that gorgeous foal she is going to have.

I do know exactly how you feel Lucy - Diana is 14 this year and her first foal is due in 3 weeks! It is seriously scary stuff when the pony means so much!
Amy is huge in comparison to Diana who is only just beginning to show signs she may be in foal! I went to check her this morning and we have the first very small sign of a bag forming.
I will take some pictures in the next few days and show you. Lady on the other hand, her seventh foal is on the way and she is shaped deep like Amy, but from behind resembles a zeppelin, just like she did last year with Melody.

you and me both Lucy, you and me both....... am wondering now if I should have put one of the others in the paddock with her, too late now tho. I hate my fencing, never got round to building her a shelter so she's foaling outside regardless Lucy looks in fab condition, she will be just fine. Doris had a pointy tum at one point but its just big all round now! her udders have been developing over the last two weeks but no change over the last 3 days

Amy has at least 6 weeks to go (in theory) and is really developing downstairs! Good luck with Doris, I'm sure she'll just pop it out when no-one's looking!

Oh my, Amy does look pretty tired of the whole thing! I love her pictures though because I've never seen the "iron in the black" before, just read about it in the Dales pony book. I love the coloring, it's beautiful. I wish Knight would get a lovely sprinkling of white hairs like that but as he's 10 probably not. Lucy looks fabulous. Fingers & hooves crossed that she'll have that lovely foalie for you very soon.

More Trollie pics I'm afraid! If you get bored shout and I'll stop! Now at 5 weeks to go and she's "worrying" me! LOL! She's started waxing (I think) - crystal bits on her teats and small drips on her legs. I have got round to reading my foaling book and am panicing even more as I've not done any of the things I "should" have done - hot water and towels stuff - off to but a clean bucket with a lid tomorrow!! LOL! Anyway here's the apple of my eye (but don't tell her as she might try to eat herself!) Left: Right: Teats (I broke the bits off the right one as I was checking as I'd just come home after going on a 1940s weekend at Haworth! Alison I think I saw your brother showing off a mare 5 mins off junc 38 of the M1 on the left??)) And a 40s pic just to change the mood! God bless EbaY! Not sure who the bloke was..... so many .. so little time! It was hell, I was pulling up my stockings and adjusting my seams and encouraging slapping straying hands all day!
