My mare is supposed to foal in June, I really don't think she's got much belly. bit new to this so don't know how big she should be at this stage. She's had a foal last year, so it would be 2nd one, She was scanned in foal in October though. I keep thinking well if she's not she will come into season soon, then I'll know for sure. Any tips to tell, anyone?

I didn't realize mares could still have seasons throughout a pregnancy. LOL, tell Rose she got rooked ;D I was going to suggest the same regarding the vet. Its easier to feed appropriately, that way you aren't giving her extra rations only to find she's 'well' and not preggers and then you're faced with getting the added weight off instead. Fingers crossed she gives you a bouncy baby this June

I think I'll try the vet, as you say, I'm putting lots of (forage) feed into her and don't want her overweight if she's not! This morning I was thinking she is! Glad to hear about the seasons as she did appear to be a little in season when she arrived, which did give me doubts, as I didn't think they came in if they were in foal. but if they can that's put my mind at rest about that one! Am looking forward to the possible patter of tiny hooves, but am rather frightened as well in case anything goes wrong!

Just read as much as you can ahead of time, get your foaling kit at the ready and remember to breathe. I'm sure you'll do grand when the time comes. And if you've got questions, there's loads of people on here who've been there, done that, got the shirt and can answer foaling out questions for you.
