Following on from the 2 year old thread I would love to see pics of some yearlings. This is Monty taken a couple of weeks ago.

Where's all the foal fluff??! Handsome chap! Here's my "little" monster - even if he thinks he's a big boy, he's not yet! (Apologies for the extra leg, didn't notice that through the lens! Need to get his passport altered as he's supposed to be all black! ) And the other side for good measure slightly more decent! (Excuse the mud bath!) He's 9 months old today! Monty looks alot more developed with much longer legs! Mind, Tim's Mum is vertically challenged!! ;D

Misty Blue 9 and a bit months old, very winter coatish still!! Misty and Penny together, that's Penny on the right hand side, whilst they were having a bit of a run around last week! Penny is just over 1 month younger, so about 8 months old and is smaller but chunkier and more hairy!!

C'mon Norma - tell us the secret! Where is Monty's fur? Have you been waxing him or do you have a huge supply of Immac He looks lovely and sleek. Are you prepping him for showing this season? Remind me, is he Gem's full brother? I was too embarrassed to post photos of "Jacq the Yak" as he is still covered in thick fugg. All of my other ponies are starting to shed, but not Jacq. I think his internal GPS is faulty and he thinks he lives half way up Mont Blanc However now Lucy and Barbara have posted pics of their handsome boy and beautiful girls, still with winter fur, I'll go for it. Sorry - don't have any stood-up pics. These are snaps taken out in the field 2 weeks ago on his 9 months old day : He now has his older brother to play with so he's slimmed down a bit since these pictures were taken - thank goodness!

Oh Anna - that's not fair Lucy - don't worry. The difference between a 9 month old weanling (like Jacq and Tim) and a true yearling can be phenomenal. 3 months can make a lot of differnce at this young age. They suddenly grow legs Jacq had fairly long cannons as a newborn but you wouldn't think so at the moment (although he is 13HH-ish ) ETA - just noticed the bit about pony-owner lookalikes. That confirms that I must be the fattest and hairiest person on the board then ;D

Tim's only peeping at 12hh and that's on tippy-toes! Save me buying a new mounting block!! ETA as we're cross posting! At least you don't have "duck's disease" Helen!

I am getting him ready for the shows Helen but he has had nothing special. Brushing twice a day does the job. William never gets a thick coat so he must be taking after him. He is full brother to Gem. I think they are all lovely pics. Blossom, Misty, Penny and Tola look so sweet and girly compared to the boys. Tim, Jacq and Merlin look like real boys and are so handsome. Tim may look smaller Lucy but "good stuff comes in little bundles" Yearlings can change from day to day but what a difference in Tola from 12 to 14 months.

Thank You.
She's my pride and joy (one of them anyway - I have another Dales pony and a Welsh Sec B)
I'm trying to get her ready for the shows but she's still so hairy!
Taking her to a show in 3 weeks time. Should be fun, looking forward to it!
