I was so priviledged to be there in the minutes after Penley was born. D was amazing and I'll leave it to linda to tell you about it as it's her news but she is an absolutely fabulous mother already. I can't thank Linda enough for the priviledge... i will never forget the first time I saw his face in the dark - a breathtaking moment. He's just lovely and D looks really well. She is doing all the right things and her patience as he tried to find which bit the milk came from (none from the fence post mate!) was quite impressive. I've got some pics which I'll pop on facebook and add a link to. I so look forward to watching this special little fella as he grows.

Huge congratulations, I am so very pleased for you that D has given you such a lovely foal. Your first one is extra special and now you have him you will enjoy watching him play and grow. Get some well deserved sleep after a few drinks to celebrate, well only after you have told us all about the birth

Here is the link www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=82097&id=581802617&l=f302845c32My children, bless them, have been brought to and from Hillside over the last two weeks under threats to keep quiet and hidden around D. They've been great, and Hannah in particular has been through the foaling books and asked a lot of questions (beware Julie, Anna, Richard and Laura....she now KNOWS what a stud farm is all about so her questions might be different next time!!!) When Linda went off for her shower today we stayed in the caravan with the lovely view of all three horses. Hannah made a song to celebrate the day which she has put up in Linda's caravan and Linda asked if I would post it on here. Hannah's poem for D and Penley It's a very windy day And a foal has been born, By D the very proud parent Of all. He is very jumpy And he likes to run And he likes to come up our end But his mother doesn't let him. D the very proud parent Loves him so much. It's her first baby And his name is Penley And he is a very jumpy little pony As he is a Dales. D the very proud parent She loves him so much. Hannah (7) I hope you like it as much as we do!
