Yes Jane I did and I also found that the homeopathic tablet improved the situation as well, I have kept Dga well covered all summer and it has helped, but this indian sumer has caught me out as I took his hood off a little too soon and he rubbed his head slightly, its a horrible thing to control.

Andy has rubbed lumps out his mane and not a lot of forelock left we managed to keep him reasonably itch free through the summer with flyrug and full facemask/hood. Unfortunately we took the hood off too soon and now back to a very itchy pony. We invested in camrosa shampoo & ointment which appeared to help but expensive (will try the avon stuff). Have also bought global herbs anti itch stuff which was again expensive but he hasnt been on it long enough to see any effect. Have tried naff deitch, deet etc all to no effect. We do have a boett but it does make him hot at certain times of weather and we have found the Mark Todd fly rug to be better suited to Andy (just have to buy really big to get the width) and its still in one piece! I have been told tesc hayfever tablets are supposed to be good (3 a day) but not comfortable in giving drugs?? We also find that andys mane is really brittle and will break easily so I am starting to consider if he needs something in his diet?

Dancer has really suffered this year - i have just clipped him at the weekend and have found lots of really scabby skin bits on his neck - and dancers skin is like a babys bum usually - i can only put it down to sweetitch. At least i can see them to treat them now though. His coat was so scurfy and yack when i clipped it off too. Even the clippers had to think about it and usually they just plow through it. I am thinking about this stuff for next year www.supplementsolutions.co.uk/shop/index.php?cPath=21_87&sort=3a&filter_id=45 - the granules - willing to try anything to be honest. Cant bear to see him so frustraited with himself.

I'd be cautious with that Jo- there's some thoughts that garlic can actually make sweet itch worse! I only ever found a boett / divoza rug to help Mickey and I tried alsorts!! Citronella made him far worse though.

They were plugging that stuff at our local tack and feed store last summer. A few people I spoke to said it made little difference and I notice they're not stocking it again this year.
My vet sent me an advert about a treatment they were offering for sweet itch sufferers. Can't remember the name of it now but it turned out to be a Vitamin B supplement. I already give P Brewers Yeast so didn't take them up on it. Anyone else tried it?
P's mane is already starting to grow back ( or is that wishful thinking !!) but she's still itchy and has now grown a little wart on her nose ?? Poor baby needs some serious TLC.

Ok - scrap that then! LOL
A girl on our yard tried Cavalesse (is that what its called?!) She thought it helped, but its really expensive. I think the box was about £80/90 and its only a month or so's worth.
