Hi I am new to this message board - I have a 9 year old grey Grade A Dales called Sowermire Shamrock - Blue for short. I have had him a year now and he is just great. He is not the bravest pony but he tries his best and recently we did 85 miles of the Pennine Bridle Way which was definitely a challenge but well worth it . I am just to doing some research on his ancestry and was wondering if anyone has any pictures of Dartdale Shamrock, Hett Shamrock or Grey Bobbie - just wondering if he resembles them! Hope you can help, Suzanne and Blue

Hi Suzanne - welcome to Dalesfans. I'm sure someone will be able to help with some pics.....
In the meantime, do tell us more about Blue - he sounds lovely. And a huge well done for doing the Pennine Bridle Way - that's some achievement.

Yes I was - Blue definitely fancied his chances with your girl until Samuel Pepys pranced by Thanks very much for the picture of Grey Bobbie - he was fab. I can see why he was used so much for breeding.

Shell How are you getting on with the showing? - I have to admit that I haven't done any since the EA Dales Show.

Shell How are you getting on with the showing? - I have to admit that I haven't done any since the EA Dales Show. S Doing really well!! We went to Herts which was our first attempt at County level and won it beating her sister lol! Not done much since the Southern Breed show where we were second, went out locally last weekend and won again. So safe to say i am one very proud and happy mummy!!! Got Bucks County next week so fingers firmly crossed for that one!!

Welcome to the board, your pony looks really lovely and quite brave enough to me! ;D I have a Dartdale pony, his sire is Hett Shamrock. Here is a pic of Dan, I do have one of Hett Shamrock somewhere which was sent to me (but I can't remember who by!), once I locate it I'll post it

Thanks for the lovely photos - I can see a family ressemblance. Blue is fine but is scared of coloured poles and gates but we are working on it.
Good luck with the Bucks County, Shell - our next outing is a TREC competition in September.

I love him! Out of all the photos, Blue definitely is like this one the most (for obvious reasons). Thank you very much - I think I now know more about Blue's family tree than my own.
