Try not to worry too much yet. 5 days isn't long if its been a strong kick, poor Blossom.
When Bea was lame a couple of years ago, I would have sworn he wasn't getting better, but the vet could see improvement every time. Hope an X-ray isn't necessary in the end xx

Oh No!!! Your poor little Blossom! Oh, baby that's gotta hurt. My Blossom's had troubles with slipping/sticky stifles, but that was just her upwards growth patterns, she's not been actually kicked in the knee. Heather on here, her pony Drummer (which was my Blossom's brother) he got kicked in the knee. Hopefully she sees this and can give you some words of wisdom and encouragement. Fingers crossed and sending along fast healing vibes for the little girl She's young yet and that may be a big help for her in the healing.

I was going to ring the vet today for another visit if she was no better, but there is, thankfully some improvement today, so I really hope she's on the mend. Still very sore, but not quite so 'wincy' if you know what I mean! Rather sensibly she spends a fair amount of time asleep! In the morning after her breakfast, she stomps about and whinnies for her mum, so she gets 10 minutes out in the yard with her for a slurp of milk whilst I clean her box out, then she's happy to go back in and let mum go into the field. very good girl really!

Oh bless, she really is being such a good girlie. I'm sure she's getting some moral support from her mum too. I hope she continues to mend so well Keep resting and healing little Blossom

Good that there is some improvement...looks as if she has turned a corner and will now continue to get better and better.

ooh, first turn out after 10 days inside! we penned off part of a dry field and put her out with aunty holly. Holly (30 years old approx) suddenly remembered about that thing she used to do called galloping! didn't think she still had it in her! marvellous paces, I think she is having us on about being old! Blossie did 10 days galloping and bucking in 1 go! if she's still sound tomorrow after that lot, then she is definately better!

She's absolutely fine now, recovered amazingly quickly, one minute I am in despair, thinking the worst, then within a couple of days she's fine, so relieved! One good thing came out of it, at least she's weaned now, I was putting it off as I didn't want to send her mum away, but yesterday I turned her out for the first time without her morning 'milk bar'. she whinnied a bit at first, but as soon as I put mum out in the next field so she could see her, she settled and went off and grazed with Holly. 3rd morning out this morning and she was really good, just calmly let me lead her in and was ok. I think her mum is rather relieved to have her space back!
