In a fit of impulsiveness yesterday I brought two bags of not very nice maderins. They're very hard to peel and quite bitter.
Anyone have any brilliant ideas about what I can do with them - other than stick 'em in the bin...

Sounds like your mandarins need disguising in a recipe, Olivia!!
You could fry some chicken breasts, and then add the slices of mandarin with veggies in a stir fry - and maybe a sauce to hide the bitter taste of your mandarins. Oranges added to this recipe are usually quite nice. But don't think that would use up two bag fulls unless you invite a lot of people round for their dinner!!!
I like orange flan, sponge done in a flan case, and then tipped out, and mandarins put on the top .......but if yours are not nice tasting, you would need lots of cream or something on top as well!!
Perhaps you could add other fruit and make a smoothie ....or two?
Its a shame to bin them, if they could be used somehow.
Will Tilly not eat them? Some of my ponies like them, and the goats love them too, including the peel, which makes me shudder .......

I was going to say marmalade! Mandarin marmalade is lovely - got to go to work now but I'll see if I can find a recipe later if that would help.
