I just thought I would start a thread on supplements as there are so many! Blue gets Simple Systems seaweed to make sure he get all his vits and mins and also MagOx to keep his overactive brain in check . I read somewhere that for Mallanders (Sp?) you could feed sulphur but also read that sulphur is poisonous in large quantities. Just wondering if anyone has any experience? Suzanne

haha - I'm the yard QUEEN of supplements. At times Tilly gets more supplement than feed At the moment she has 1kg of Allen and Page Slim and Healthy (which is all her vits and mins - this time of year she's not getting the whole 1kg, but as soon as the grass goes off she'll get the full amount again). Then she gets Hilton Herbs Reflex - which is a herbal supplement for her stiffness and it's very obvious when she doesn't get it. She also gets Top Spec 10:10 joint supplement which has Glucosamine, Hyaluronic Acid and MSM - I use this one because it doesn't have chrondiatrin in as it's not vegetarian. Garlic - to stop the flies she also occasionally gets electrolytes (rather than just table salt! I'm a fussy wotsit!) Sometimes she also gets a hormonal mare supplement - not because she gets moody, but she is a bit fixated on the opposite sex!

Heather - how do you do those clever CLEVER links? It's like doing the {img} thing but with {url} instead ({} used instead of [] so you can see what I mean) e.g. {url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkAIEzd9GiU} Amazing video of Dales ponies {/url} doing a quadrille to music Becomes amazing video of Dales ponies doing a quadrille to music when you put the correct square brackets. oooooh, I see. Thank you Heather

Um....not a great deal in the summer! They have yellow Rockie blocks in the fields and that seems to work - 2 have been deficiency tested and both were OK.
When they are working and therefore being fed they get Feedmark Benevit Advance - they get this all winter too.

We have yellow rockies in the fields too. Mine also get Winter Glow/Summer Shine from Equus Health, which was recommended by my barefoot trimmer. Modified for spelling.

Sigs was on SS when his insulin problem was first diagnosed and given the problems it caused he was also on Coligone.
Now its under control nicely with Allen and Page Fast Fibre and he has his electrolytes every day. It's great to have one who needs so few supplements. My QH has joint supplements from an American company given the reining moves he does.

I swear by Top Spec balancers, Robin is on the Lite version at the moment being a little on the chunky side. He gets TS with one or two single handfuls of Hi Fi Lite moistened with SpeediBeet. His only other treat is a few licks of Horslyx with garlic whilst I do the daily poo pick. This is us enjoying a view on a breezy day, the Coniston Fells in the background
What a fabulous photo. Is that your regular hacking country?
I guess we are quite fortunate in South Lakes area in having some good bridleways but I have to confess that this was a slightly off route excursion to a local view point PS must learn how to do quotes
