Heard him coughing yesterday morning just thought it was because it's so dry, but he's still coughing today and is a bit crusty round his nostrils, typical just when it's coming up to the weekend and I'm away over it, should I get the vet out?

Oh no Zelda - these horses always have the most impeccable timing don't they!
Does he have a temperature? If it was Tilly, and she didn't have a temperature - and any snot was clear and not yellow/opaque, I would leave the vet for a couple of days. Maybe get one of the soothing syrups from the feed merchants (the ones with mollasses and licorice and things in). This time of year I think they can get hayfever type symptoms which can make them a bit coughy.
However if you're not going to be about over the weekend maybe it is better to bite the bullet now and get the vet out just in case.
Or you could phone the vet and get their opinion?
Good luck with what ever you decide and lots get well soon vibes for Prince.

I was wondering what I had I could give him and remembered I had some echinacea capsules so I've given him a handful, oh I've got some manuka honey I could give him that as well. Sara is coming to animal sit so if she thinks he needs the vet over the weekend she'll call him out.

Manuka honey sounds good. It certainly wont do any harm. I hope it clears up soon.

Dont' worry, he's in good hands with Sarah. Most likely it is all down to dust due to the dry weather. Hope it eases now you've had some rain. Manuka honey is a good idea.

I'm sure Sara will phone the vet if she thinks he needs it. If its any comfort, my two are blowing, snorting and coughing from all manner of stufs in the air right now.

Tehre's a lot of pollen and dust in the air, it could just be that. My old girl Jenny used to get really snotty at various times in the spring through pollen.

There seem to be a lot of ponies with cough and snuffles at the moment. Most of them are getting through it by themselves. He will probably just work through it himself.

to add- try putting eucalytus oil in hot water in a bucket and holding it up near pony to see if will sniff it in as this can clear airways. Or/and try antihistamine tablets like we have for hayfever.
