Had to make a fleeting visit to the UK last week to get our van MOT tested. Fortunately, it passed which gave us a couple of spare hours to dash up to Derbyshire to see Lucy and the "Very Infamous Famous Tim"
First of all we had to view Field Shelter City. There's more shelters, but I couldn't get them all in one frame!
Tim has tried all of them and is equally pleased with his Penthouse Suite with sweeping views across rolling countryside, or his Compact & Bijou Studio Apartment (which is supposed to be Celt's!) with views across the muck-heap
Two of Steve's creations :
Isaac was first to say hello. Lucy's recent cruise holiday has clearly gone to her head because she now makes her horses bow whenever she comes near
Having never set foot on a cruise liner in our lives, Martin and I were quite happy just to shake hands with Isaac :
It didn't take long for Tim to get involved in the hellos. However, Celt had told tales about how they eat horses in France and how she narrowly escaped to England with her life, so poor Tim was initially a bit traumatised and tried to hide
Lucy thinks he's small like his dam Amy, but Martin and I can tell he's definitely grown loads since we last saw him.
Martin just happened to have a tape-measure in his pocket
Tim wasn't impressed, particularly when he established that the tape wasn't edible. He also lost the ability to stand up straight.....and the tape was all floppy.....
...so we had to resort to the tried-and-tested "T*t Test"
Results = Lucy is officially small, and shouldn't cast aspersions on Tim who is at least 17.2HH and still growing
Time for cuddles with Celt. I think she still remembers us?
It was lovely to see her looking so well-cared for and happy with Lucy. They clearly have a strong bond and Lucy is enjoying bringing Celt on under-saddle.
Finally, a picture of Lucy's track system in operation. I think it's great as the horses have to walk long distances around the farm for food and water and they are all lovely and trim. However, the ponies are not quite so impressed. Amy confided that she and Tim are quietly negotiating plans with Uncle Vanty for their next escape bid into the lush, green, long bits alongside the track!
Thanks for a lovely morning Lucy. It was great to see you (and for the pub lunch).
ETA - Cruise pictures needed Lucy. Frocks, bling and all!
