I'm waiting for the vet for Harvey again. This is soooo strange. Monday and Tuesday he was moving tons better, so much so that it was hard to spot anything wrong. Last night at 9PM he was fine. This morning at 8AM when I gave him his breakfast he seemed to be moving OK. Then when I went to give him a haynet an hour later he was definately reluctant to turn in a tight circle.
Ali came in to look with me and he suddenly couldn't move his front left leg. He was holding it rigidly and clearly in a lot of pain. It was the right hind he had problems with at the start but this seems to have freed. It all points to something high up and connected to his mounting episode. I hate to see any horse in pain like this. Hope the vet comes soon.....

Oh dear hope he's more comfortable by now, it sounds like either some sort of muscle spasm or poss a trapped nerve

Vet been and gone. She was extremely thorough and pressed, pulled and palpated everything possible. Did all the standard reflex tests. She agreed the hind end was much better but he is very reluctant to move his left front. The only thing he reacted to was pressure on the muscle in front of the shoulder and the stiffness became worse when you pull the leg in question forward. However, when I took him out the stable to trot up, he walked absolutely sound and trotted only slightly lame on the left fore. The vet has now taken bloods to test for tying up but that really doesn't seem likely. It is possible he has 2 separate injuries ie he injured the foreleg by say slipping when trying to get up whilst saving his back end or it could all be related to the Dolly episode or neither. He is now stabled but not on bute and is a lot brighter but still quite uncomfortable. He seems happiest when me and Ali sit in the stable with him and cuddle him........

How strange hope it is just that he has pulled something while trying to save his romantic injury
