I have now taken on the role as PR and Publicty Officer for the DPS. I'm hoping to provide many oppourtunities for Dales Pony owners to shout about how fantastic the breed is at many many different things. If you are upto something (or a friend is!) with your Dales Ponies, please do get in touch with me so we can celebrate it with the wider community.
I am also hoping to create a list of various people around the country that might be willing to take their Dales Pony to local events/displays to show them off. We often get requests in the society for Ponies so it would be great to have a list of willing volunteers to start with when the requests come in. Please do drop me an email if you feel you can possibly help us in this way, don't worry though, I won't hold you to it as a firm commitment, just so I know who might be able to help us in the future so I can ask the right people to begin with.
If you feel you can help with either please drop me an email at a.pennell@yahoo.co.uk
Many thanks
Anna Pennell

That's briliant, Anna, just what we need. I'm sure you will do a great job. I would have welcomed this when I was doing more with Harvey - people should know what a versatile and talented breed the Dales Pony is. I've been to a few local events where Harvey was used as a breed display and it was tremendous fun - so any one debating putting themselves forward, please do!

Hi Anna I have a horrible recollection that back in 2010 when Piper was on the cover of Dressage that I was asked to OK the use of the photo and I totally forgot. I still could and if so would the DPS still want it? Sorry, sorry, sorry......

Was Piper on the cover of the BD magazine?? I remember seeing it (before I'd started considering the potential of Dales ponies for myself, was still considering Welshies then, lol what a crime!!) and my friend and I were saying how nice it was to see a 'non-typical' dressage horse on it. Didn't realise it was a Dales back then.

I'd be happy to take Kia sometimes. She loves attention at the livery yard party recently Sandra's grotto was next door to her stable. Naturally she thought all the visitors and music were for her! She also mugged a fair few of us for mince pies and drank our mulled wine she is def one who likes the limelight.

I am sure Betsy could do some outings down south with her foal if you need her. Not sure how long I will have her for, but I could take the pupils along for a day out - they are always up for a day off school!!

I was thinking of having my dales Copeley Lane Bruce freezmarked. Could u tell me whether it goes against them when showing and do u think it is unsightly. I am frightened he goes missing and don't trust microchips. Please give me your opinions. Thanks

Wow congratulations Anna! I really think the dales breed should get all the good publicity they can. They're such a fantastic breed. I don't understand why cobs are so popular and common but dales ponies who are much nicer natured and more versatile are an endangered breed. Where's the justice for our poor little native ponies? After having Cal if I were to recommend any breed to someone who wants to just get on and have fun and enjoy riding it'd be the dales. They're not just a great pony they're beautiful as well.

This is our Dan. He was used for a couture clothing shoot, and this is his banner from Los Angeles Fashion week. The second photo is Dan on the cover of the fashion designers collection book. We are so proud of Dan. He represented the Dales very well and showed his fantastic temperament putting up with hours upon hours of photo shooting in the heat with various riders jumping on and off of him with all sorts of crazy clothing. Those photos are stunning. He really fits in with the ethereal atmosphere I hope people are inspired by the dales breed by these photos. I would be if I weren't already. People obsess about friesians, well dales are like friesian ponies! They're just as gorgeous and flashy but with better conformation and health Let's make dales the new friesian (black, grey, bay, brown and roan is the new black )

Thank you! Dan has done a fair bit of modeling, and he has also traveled a good bit in the US to be a breed example for expos and that sort of thing. He is now retired from showing, but we still do the odd modeling job.
