Inca is now 11 days overdue (but we had a bit of a saga with last years scans thanks to an inexperienced vet) so I'm not totally convinced that Inca's due date is correct I had Inca checked by the vet this morning and he has reassured me that the foal is fine and correctly aligned, so it's just wait. He also said most mares are running 2 weeks overdue due to the late arrival of Spring.

I can't wait to see Inca's foal, she is such a lovely mare Thanks Penny. The vet that came today is new - only been with the practice for 3 weeks. He's a specialist equine vet but has to do bovine work here too. He'd never seen a Dales before until he met Inca. He said she was beautiful, then very beautiful. I thought awwhh he's just being polite and friendly. Then he stood back and looked at her properly and said how good her conformation was, and that it was so unusual to see such quality joints, bone and presence in a "heavy pony" He then stayed to watch her power-trot back to her broodmare friends after her examination, and was grinning like a Cheshire Cat! He left saying he was going to google Dales ponies tonight and get all of his horsey friends to check out the english native breeds

I was wondering how Inca was doing. We are certain of Becky's dates- she cost me a fortune in scans, was covered once and scanned to check she'd ovulated! 6.5 weeks to due date... taken so long to get this close
