Sadly I had to place our Dales Waterside Django out on loan due to long distance move back in late 2010 in Cornwall, came to my attention that they no longer have him, whilst enquiring with the loaners , I have learnt they don't have him but also will not tell me where he is. not being willing to tell me much I have the original passport , If anyone knows any information on our boy , he is now aged 22 , please e=mail me on workingbeardie@aol.com , many thanks , he was last seen in the Cornwall area , xx

if you go on horse and hound forum there are two members on there who run an organisation just for tracing horses missing when on loan. I hope you find him soon.

OMG How awful. Any distinguishing marks! Can you legally print the loaners name and address to shame them and make sure they dont do this to anyone else,if they havent already and print it in all the horse magazines.

I too would join all the forums, horse gossip, horse and hound etc, and get the word out.
Facebook is also an amazing resource - get it on there and ask people to pass info on.
Also let the DPS know just in case anyone enquires about him. Presume cos of his age he's not microchipped
I will let my friend know - she's nr Exeter

Yes, do let the DPS know too. A similar thing happened to a Dales pony I have now. He went "missing" after being sent out on loan and passed through the hands of 3 other people before being "found" again via an enquirey to the DPS. In his case he went missing with his passport so was easier to trace but fingers crossed for Django.

We have found Django, a lovely couple have been nursing him back to life after the nasty man rented their field from them then abandoned him with a Shetland their, his condition was so bad he had worms from his bottom , terrible weight loss and no fur on his sore infected body , the Angels of Barbara and Charles have been living in their barn to feed him the last 3 months to keep him alive, his weight and fur is starting to come back , his skin is being treated and soothed , my poor Django how could I loaned you out to such filth , Im so sorry , we shall hug soon, at least he is loved in the meantime, thankyou everyone for your help

SO pleased you've got him back, but how awful to hear how he's been treated. Thank god there are some decent, wonderful, caring people out there who have nursed him.
