The lack of "Back to the top" button and the next page button being at the top of the page - makes for a lot of scrolling

No I don't like the lack of a back to the top button but the "next page" button stays available to press where ever you are in a thread. Or am I missunderstanding what you mean?

Oh yes it does I'm just too used to it being at the bottom right lol, buuuuut you can't get back to the index page without scrolling up or have I missed something else I do have my page quite small on my screen makes it easier for my rotten eyesight

No I can't find a button to scroll back up but if I press my return to previous button at the very top left hand corner of the computer it goes to the top again, but only once. If I scroll down and press it a second time, then it takes me to the previous page. That sounds confusing - not sure I've explained it well!
The "actions" button lets you go to previous or next thread but you would think it would have a "take you back to the top" option.

There is a back to top thingy, its in at the right hand side of each post, the little arrow next to the cog symbol gives you a drop down list which has "back to top" at the bottom of it. Does that help?

I found the arrow by accident, trying to work out what on the earth the cog is Looks like the cog and the drop down arrow do the same thing? Or am I being thick? I miss the old smilies the most. I can't work out what expressions most of the new ones refer to <<roll-eyes>> Martin hates the new board but the up-side to that is he won't post under my name

Well done for finding the button Penny I won't do that go back to the top thing again though. I got horribly seasick when I tried it just now. I usually click the Home button on my computer to take me to the top of a page. Back space sometimes takes me back to a previous page, but it's not consistent. Some pages go back, other pages don't for me.

The thing which is the most annoying, possibly, is that the Personal Chat stays on permanently once logged into it. You used to need to re-login to that page once you had left the site, but now you don't. Not sure of the implications of this, anyone?

Yes I noticed that and PMd Pam, I thought that it was open to anyone but as you say it remains open once you have logged in to it the first time. I think the mods are working on trying to sort that out Penny

We are about to put up an announcement to reasure every one that Personal Forum is still safe and private. Non-members have no access to it at all and members need to log in with the password once and then their computer remembers it. Presumeabley if you delete your cookies it won't remember the password but I haven't tired this yet myself to confirm. I'm not happy about this and we have a few other niggles and glitches we need to sort out.

I don't like that change either Penny. I think Proboards got cutesy with their newest format and possibly have stored that password on their end instead of constantly relogging it on our end. I don't think the Personal sections are available to the web in General. Has anyone discovered our older smilies yet? I went to Cosgan de to try to find the *wub* one, but didn't see it I'm trying to get used to these new smilies, but epic ones like the *cheers* simply goes hand in hand with Dalesfans
