Just to let those of you who know my family know, my Mum died last night. She battled through till the end but ended up dying in mine and my Dad's arms on the commode. It was horrible and undignified but mercifully quick. I was planning on being away this weekend, thank God I stayed here!

I am so sorry, you have cared for her with such amazing love and fortitude through what is a terrible disease process for everyone involved. I hope there can be a healing even amongst the grieving.

Thank you guys! Been up for 43 hours now and about to fall into bed. My kids are amazing. Lucy's boyfriend has driven Lucy and Tim here and my son and his wife who were celebrating their first wedding anniversary in the South of France, raced to Paris to catch the Eurostar and arrived here late this evening. Tash has said that it was a good day for Nanny to die as we will always remember the great effort my Mum made to get to the wedding and we will celebrate Nanny's life as well as their wedding anniversary every year.
Teresa has been fabulous too and interrupted her own busy weekend to see to the ponies for me.
I feel very loved and cared for.
