FOR SALE - Defender de Kingmaker. Section A Dales colt, foaled 27th May 2013. To make 14-14.2hh. FIS clear.

Bay with an elongated star. Small amount of white to near hind with striped hoof.

Sire : Coverdales Carnival King, 15hh (Wharfedale Prince Regent x Colliery Black Bess)
Dam : Lowhouses Fiona, 14hh (Ashwood Black Prince x Raygill Gemma)

Defender is a smart, typey foal with a very pretty head. He's so pretty, most people think he's a girl!

He has a quiet but curious temperament, and good manners around people. He's a chunky, compact foal with a good depth of body, powerful hindquarters and an impressive mini-stallion neck, but he's not at all "clunky".

Fen currently has a beautiful dark bay coat with rich-bay soft-parts, but I am finding it difficult to predict what shade of bay he will be as an adult. He has already gone through a fascinating range of bay variations; bright bay, dark red, orange, wishy-washy brown, mahogany bay and dappled!!! My best guess is he'll finish a dark mahogany bay with pronounced seasonal variations?

Our foals are gently handled from birth through to weaning (just 1 or 2 five minute sessions per week)so Fen will leave us knowing how to lead, load and tie, and stand quietly for the vet and farrier. He will be wormed every 8 weeks from birth and start his flu + tet vaccinations prior to leaving. His hooves will be trimmed by our farrier.

Fen is for sale after weaning in November 2013 to a loving home, where there are other horses for company. £300 deposit secures. Presently in north-west France. Possibility of shared transport to the UK with our filly Destiny, who will be heading for her new home in the north of England at this time.

We can accept payment in instalments from people we know/trust. Hard times for everyone in the current economic climate!

Fen is still looking for his new home. I've had 2 offers from people in France, both nice people, but neither of them had any other horses to be a companion for Fen and I can't sell him under those circumstances

I love him too and think he is a really special foal, however a foal and 10 week old baby not a good mix and would most likely end in divorce lol (well unless I win the lottery this weekend)

GAAAAHHH!!! I'm still wishing I could buy him and bring him over! Each time I see him he gets more and more gorgeous. He's got the sweetest expression ever, and just look at those legs

No, he's a goody-goody (so far, lol). Quiet, sweet and friendly like his dam. He's very nosey though and being the only colt amongst 5 "women", he thinks it's his responsibility to investigate any changes in the herd's environment. He often wanders off exploring. Yesterday he stalked my neighbours cat for 2 fields until he realised the rest of the herd was miles away and the "tiger" stopped in its tracks and stared at him. He came screaming back to mum in a cloud of dust. I didn't know he could move that fast!

To be honest, neither Defender nor Destiny get much chance to be mischievous. Dakota claims the rights to that title, and if we ever find anything trashed or rearranged on the yard, she gets the blame anyway

I shall have to post some new photos of Defender soon. He has just mastered his headcollar on/off lessons, so is "naked" again and even prettier for it

LOL, well with a tiger staring him down and him all alone, I'm not surprised he let out a squeal and disappeared in a cloud of dust He sounds so much like Dundee and Blossom, both are so nosey nothing new escapes them. They simply must come to investigate, and given an inkling of a chance, Blossom will dictate, or better yet, show how the job's to be done.

I'd love to see new pics of him, but I also realize how exhausting it is to get them online wherever he goes, this is one very special lad. He's going to make someone a true lifetime friend, if not collect his own little fan group, and he'll do a fab job to promote the breed along the way.

Yes, yes I do very badly want to In fact I've been in serious discussions with Helen over him; however, our recent cross country move means I haven't come up with the customs costs for him to wing his way over I think he'd make best of friends with Dundee (they both seem to have the same looks and softie temperments).
