Martin quite fancies "Eric The Red" if his Fell mare has a colt foal. I refuse to let him have Eric Bloodaxe!!! Poor foal. We're not restricted to 8 letters for the Fell foal as the breed is not recognised in France. Anna - Lily Of The Valley? Pretty plant, and a pretty name for a filly

I didn't realise it was supposed to be bad luck to have someone name your foals? ... I think it's more the thought of choosing a name before the foal is born which some people may be cautious about xx ETA - no matches, lol. ooh, yes, I can see that. I'd probably be a bit like that too. Apparently a friend of a friend is planning on having a foal 'shower' before it's due. I definitely would be too superstitious to do that! (it's her first foalie)

Found some nice Cealic names:
Filly: Eavan: beautiful Edana: fire Evlin: radiant, beautiful Enya: the center, the core, the most important part Erin: just means Ireland, but I think it's nice
Colt: Eachann: horse lord (yeah!) Eamon: prosperity, protection Easal: waterfall Egan: little fire Eiros: bright, snow Elemar: meaning is uncertain, but believed is it is connected to the term Noble Emrys: immortal Esras: empower Evan: fair as gold
And the LOTR fan could go for Éowyn, Éomer, Ëar (meaning sea), Ëarwen (maiden of the sea) Elen (meaning star), Elena or Elda (both meaning: from the stars) or Eledhwen (maiden of the stars).

I love the name Enya from Cassie's list What about Esmerelda or Ermentrude? (only joking) Although there was an Ermentrude of Orléans in the 9th Century. She was Queen of the Franks

There's a couple of matches from Cassie's list and Enya is one of them, possibly for Inca's baby if she has a filly, because I think Inca and Enya sounds nice together or for Gem's baby because it continues the celtic theme we chose for her previous daughters Celtic Myth and Breanna Much as I love the Magic Roundabout (I am the proud owner of an Ermintrude hot water bottle) there are, thankfully, more than 8 letters in the name Eleanor d'Aquitaine is buried in Fontevraud Abbey, not far from us, and she was the Queen of Anjou - our region - but again, too many letters. You are making me feel all foalie, especially as I have been transferring due-dates onto my DPS calendar

Agree with cassey, just Eleanor! We are now around 240 days so looking forwards to Spring and what it might bring us. Think one of the things it might bring is sleepless nights, I am making up for this with lots of early nights at the moment.

Anybody on foal-watch yet? I have Gem and Tetley stabled at night now, but they're not due for another couple of weeks, so no sleep deprivation yet
