Yes, I suppose everyone is back into work routine. January is my least favourite month - it seems so long and dark.

There is nothing to report from North Wales. The weather has been disgusting and the daylight hours are too short to get anything done or to go riding after work. I hate this time of year......

Well I had plans to ride Scout yesterday but there had talk of changes to shift patterns at work so I had to pop in to see what duties I had...they had me well over my hours ! I was there quite a while, but it's sorted...well not really the changes are not happening as quick as we thought ! So no ride and a very piddly stable to clean out Scout must have been in a huff as he had been in ALL day Stable clean now, now I STINK !!!

Yes, I agree with all the others about January being my least favourite month. My birthday falls in Jan but I still do not like the other 30 days!
I suppose we should be grateful that we are not having the horrific frosts and snows of 12 months ago, but am heartily fed up with all the puddles and sloppy mud! At least we have not had the floods that so many areas are still having, but riding is either road work (too much traffic to enjoy that) or only walking along our very slippery and muddy tracks nearby (which the ponies do not approve of).
Good news is that my old Minnie who I had almost written off two months ago is now enjoying life enough to go out for the odd short walk hack. I took her out for about 30 mins yesterday - just after a huge rain storm - and she stormed along going out, and tried to jog and go sideways all the way home. So glad she is feeling happy again and obviously forgotten she will be 24 in two months time!!

I think we're all too busy sliming through mud and wading through swamps I had big plans to resist hibernation and ride my way through this Winter, but I've only had 3 days when I've found the time - and a weather-window - to get out on my new boy Jac, and he's been here 6 weeks now Looking forward to Spring, and the clatter of tiny hooves in 9 weeks time(fingers crossed).

I'm only just back to DFs after my computer got toasted on Sunday near as I could tell, Google Chrome killed it and the super spiffy computer wiz in town wasn't spiffy at all. I had to prompt him to run a malware test on it, but all he could find were corrupted and completely missing files...yes, because the malware's already done it's job and you have a tiny window of opportunity to kill/remove it before it toasts the computer completely needless to say the malware won. So now I'm fighting with a new computer with an all new format. It's not going well, but I shall prevail eventually. I don't see a need to install applications for a phone when I'm using a laptop In brighter news, this morning I kept the 4 riding horses in their barn, and lead Blossom and Dundee out to their paddock for some much needed running around and grazing time. Blossom did hoolies, bucking and plunging all over, and then Dundee was like a little goat on springs. I had to correct him at one point because he wanted to play so badly he reared back and stuck a foot out at me. Thankfully he's easy to correct (soft like a greyhound/collie), and he behaved himself the rest of the walk to the field, though he could hardly contain himself. And now that I own a palomino, I finally understand why I see tailbags for sale in the catalogs. His beautiful white tail is now icky brown at the end That's going to take a lot of shampoos to come right again Oh yes, and bucketloads of work for us as the holidays are over and we have so much catching up to do. yeah, I think that's us in a nutshell.

Yep work is manic as always in the new term. The weather leaves just a little to be desired. Our fields are so sodden George hasn't been out in a field for a month. He would need to paddle and the grass is under water despite being almost at the top of a mountain, water just keeps running down
