George and I got an early outing this year. We went to a very wet and windy Strecholt in Somerset a couple of weeks ago. He was very bright in the first class. Went nicely, a little distracted by others misbehaving but managed to hold himself together until the open. Much more focussed and did a lovely show but decided to show them how he can buck at the end of a gallop Oh well you win some and lose some. He has filled out over the winter (as have I) so he needed a new saddle (I will diet to get back into my jacket). We have this one for the time being and a new one is on order. He doesn't look very impressed I think it was the early start as we had to dig him out of bed .

Well done! He is looking amazing. He's really filled out, hasn't he?
Do you live near stretcholt then? Have you been affected by the floods? I really feel for the people living on the levels.

Very brave even thinking of a show at this time of year! Mind you with him looking so good, I am not surprised you did go. Glad he behaved (99% of the time!)
Where are you based and will you be having lots of outings this year?

Thanks. We are in South Wales and for once are grateful to have him stabled on the top of a small mountain. Fields are beyond use so everything is in rather than stood fetlock deep in running water. Plan to do quite a bit with him this summer. He is hopefully off to see the hounds in a couple of weeks but not with me on board.
Julie he wouldn't be himself if we didn't have a "Bit" of excitement.
