I saw this link to a very interesting and thorough report on parasites/worming in horses and how the situation has changed over the years. It's lengthy but I found it extremely useful and explains the odd FEC results I got this autumn: www.aaep.org/custdocs/ParasiteControlGuidelinesFinal.pdfI'll need to re-read it to make sure I fully understand but I now realise that in a closed herd sharing a pasture, such as mine, a varying FEC doesn't mean some ponies have more worms than others but some are higher shedders than others. Think I will have to go through it again and highlight the main points.

Thanks for posting this Pam, I have skimmed through the paper and like you need to reread it to fully understand it, but there is some very useful information there and I think it will help me better understand how to minimise Emeralds dosing without compromising her health.
