Martin and I once considered emigrating to Vermont. Having just read through Meg's tale, I'm sooooo glad we didn't Snow-mobiling sounds like quite an attractive option, lol. Am I allowed to say that Spring has hit with a vengeance here - glorious sunshine, brilliant blue skies, and 72 degrees F today. We had friends for Sunday lunch and ate it on the patio in t-shirts However, being a somewhat motivationally-challenged rider (ie. downright lazy!) Jac's saddle is still in hibernation.

Well, hope our MA winter convinces you otherwise although Vermont late spring, summer and autumn is incomparable and some of the nicest riding country possible. Snowmobiling is a blast, and I would be a bigger fan if it weren't for the idiots who come blasting up the lane and send the tbreds galloping (the Dales just look interested and seem to be asking can they have one?). Would def welcome a Sunday sitting outside in shirtsleeves! Still, today was a softer March wind (with spells of snow) suited for drying puddles, too bad all we can offer is snow. Soon, soon, soon. Me and the pony--itchin' to get out there.

One of my college classmates was from Vermont. I found out because everyone was making fun of me one morning as I walked to class, saying I could smell snow on the air. In other words, I could smell it would be snowing that day. He suddenly spoke up and backed me up, agreeing he could smell it too, so the students had two people to laugh at ~ until it began snowing I admired him, as he used to ride his bike to classes in the snow. He said Vermont had 9 months of winter, and 3 months of very poor sledding
