I,m thinking of getting a set of travel boots for Bertie. Any recommendations for Dales sizing.

I don't use them, I think they are more trouble than they're worth, if they slip down they can tread on them and panic and those hairy legs have their own protection, I've got several sets from when I had Arabs and TB's with delicate legs, but never tried them on Spud, Emerald and Connie so don't know what size they would want.

I had wondered if I really needed them, but as most people on the yard use them - I thought it was a bit mean not to get some. He's already travelled successfully without them.

I used to have standard full horse size for Harvey when he was shod. Now he is barefoot, I don't use boots for travelling but then I know he is a good traveller.

I go back and forth re travel boots but have seen some pretty scary wounds from coronet stomps to cannon bangs so go with what's easy and comfy. I use Amigo boots, easy velcro, stay fairly cool but nix the whole lot if it's terribly warm and just use bell boots. In winter when it is very cold likely I'll use wraps and bandage, same again if traveling soon after a heavy competition. Air travel recommends not to use but they're less likely to put on the brakes or take a sharp turn.

I don't use them either but George isn't shod. I have used the wraps in the past. If they happen to slip they are not as troublesome as will tear in dire circumstances. They are also useful for drying out wet legs.

I dont like boots as I find they slip and cause issues- I prefer to use bandages and pads or if boots the style that come with snuggyhoods- a soft pad with velcro fasteners
