This is going to take a long time to process. The good die young, so I’m happy we did get as many years as we did together. Different things keep coming to me, like he was one of the 4 who made the epic journey to move from Missouri to the Oregon coast, he was my youngest, Mister his roomie is having a hard time processing his brother is gone all of us, really. Even when I was having to do so many trips to Portland last week, I kept Blossom apprised of the situation, and she was deeply concerned and genuinely saddened to hear of his passing. She keeps checking on me, but understands the grief. She only met him when he was a tiny babe still on the bottle, but she remembers him. In the way of most older folks she’d seen him when he was older, but her thoughts were still of him as a tiny dinky dot. I’ll never forget how extremely gentle she was saying hi to him. She never wanted to frighten the baby, and I’m sure he understood that. He was as brave as he could be while meeting Blossom and Galahad. This morning as I lay in bed it hit me that I’ve collectively had coatimundes for over 20 years now. Amanda we had for 14 1/2 years, and Oogway…. dear one… he was 7 years and 3 1/2 months. Never say never, but at this point I don’t think we will be adding any family members. I doubt we’ll adopt another coati. Oogway would be an impossible act to follow. Thank you all...for everything... the support and kinds words mean much to Eldon and me

Thank you one and all for the support we're still missing him desperately as we pass the one month gone mark. We were able to commission Lin Wellford to do a couple of portraits for us of Mister and Oogway. She's the same artist who painted Kitty and Amanda our first coati, all those years ago. They've brought a lot of joy and solace over the years. I'm sure Oogway's portrait will do the same, though we'd prefer to give back the portrait and have our little man back! ....sigh....not realistic, so we'll continue to adjust to him being gone.
