Blossom went through a phase where it was hard to distinguish what she was doing/intending. Thankfully it didn't last long, but was definitely her teen phase where she'd be a thug and in the same breathe want to know why I was being soooo mean to her 
I just kept doing the 'stay out of my personal bubble of space... you're okay, I'm not beating on you, and no you still can't push into my bubble of space, get back". Routine was our friend and she outgrew it. Mostly it's the phase they go through naturally trying to sort their position in the herd.
It's wonderful you and Eve have gotten this time to get to know more about one another. I'm glad you're enjoying the groundwork with her to build your confidence and language with one another. It's interesting to hear that you are both 'busy' and this gives you the opportunity to learn how to forge your relationship. Once you get beyond her phase, she's going to get better and better.
