Having taken some new pictures of Jack jumping last week I thought I would share a few of them with you. I am very lucky to have Steven riding him again for me, they really are an awesome combination The first two are them showing off their very nice flat work and Jack's lovely outline A couple of action jumping shots. The fence was HUGE (a bit over 4 1/2 feet !!) Finally, one of them doing their party piece. This was totally posed for !! As you will see, I am very lucky to have Steven to ride him, he is such a talented guy and a natural horseman. Hope you like Nikki

He certainly did clear it and with plenty to spare too !! Steve is just such a wonderfully talented guy, I am so lucky to have him riding for me. I first got to know Steve about 6 years ago when he used to come onto our yard from a yard opposite where he had a pony on loan, to ride with some of the girls from our yard that he knew from school. He was 16 then and just an average rider. He is very largely self taught too which makes his talents all the more worthy of comment. At around that time, we were having troubles keeping Jack in his field. He used to jump from field to field, stirring up all the other horses as he went, just for the pleasure of jumping so although he was only young (about 4 or so) we took the decision to let him jump under saddle as we felt that it would be safer for him to be jumping show jumps on a prepared surface rather than jumping field fences. Steve offered to ride him a bit for us and the rest as it were is history. Steve taught Jack to jump properly and it is all his hard work that has turned Jack into the fantastic jumping pony that he is today. They competed for a couple of seasons and basically won virtually everything they entered (it got a bit embarrassing sometimes!!) until eventually Steve got a job as a show jumpers groom and was away from the yard for a couple of years. However, thankfully he is now back working on the yard again and has resumed riding and jumping Jack again. We are ever hopeful that we might be able to affiliate Jack this year. Steve is a very talented, self taught young man who has made such a difference to Jack, and I really do appreciate him. I sometimes wish that he had had the opportunity to have a chance at 'big time' show jumping because he surely has the talent but being selfish I wouldn't want to loose him again from Jack's life. To see them together is just amazing.
