Hi Mary Yes you can clicker train with your tongue. Its what I do with Teddy esp when I ride with the clicker, that would get too muddled otherwise!! We started with a normal clicker as the noise is very distinctive to associate with but he quickly learnt a tongue click still meant sweeties!! Very switched on to food delivery these natives...
We were really lucky and Ted and I both went on an Alex Kurland course in July. It has really really helped our ridden work which we have particular issues with speed and stopping.
Jo, sorry to hear about your boy is not well. Hows the clicker going?

This was Shadow yesterday, he is coming on in leaps and bounds. He's sound but still very stiff but is loving his work (following diagnosis for navilcular and spavin). He's hacking out alone, has been out in company but gets very excited so leaving that for now. He has gone back to being the most loving, sweet horse (affectionately known as sweety pie by the vet). He is not a TB in his head, I'm sure, she is as bombproof as any horse I've ridden before. He is a gem and I feel very lucky just now!
