I've always fed Topsepc until this spring. Now my horses are at optimum weight I've switched to Simple Systems Eclips Balancer which seems to be doing them both good. I couldn't afford for my Fjord to put on any more weight and I've always foung Topspec brilliant for getting condition on them.

I use pink powder by NAFF. I am giving V's new horse a booster course and Dorothy gets a half dose! I find the horses do very well on alternate pots of naff and equine America vitabiotic. they will get a month off when the autumn flush appears!

I used to use Lo-Cal when it was cheap then they hyped the price sky high, so I stopped using it

I have just started misty on baileys lo cal, molichop lite and soya oil. she STILL on box rest for her deep digital flexor tendon tear and she gets mostly ad lib hay but iv noticed that although she has a fat belly shes starting to lose her muscle tone on her front end and isnt as shiny as usual. I suppose its to be expected for this amount of time on rest but i thought the lo cal might be the best option as she is rather prone to getting fat. She has a salt and mineral lick too which she loves so im hoping shes not lacking in anything. The poor lass is sooooo bored. assessment in a 4 weeks so fingers crossed. Jo

I'm going to feed Bea a balancer this winter because he lost loads of condition last winter and the late spring grass just put the cap on it, poor lad. I've started to weight-tape him every week and as soon as he starts to drop weight I'll start. He needs to lose a bit of lard, but not too much....hoping to keep him around 525kg. He's 532kg at present....
We're already feeding hay in the field, but the grass where the oak trees is that is fenced off to stop the beasties pigging the acorns is still growing. They should be able to go out there once all the acorns have dropped and been cleared up.
