Well Duke is 3 and is currently turned away. Comes in on a night time and has ad-lib haylage plus a feed consisting of top spec balancer, alfa a, high fibre cubes and a bit of speedi-beet, which sounds like a lot but he has small amount sof each.

How old is Tommy again Van?
When I got my fillies (Cherry was a weanling and Olivia a yearling) they were given Mare & Foal feed for a while over their first winter but on my grass they really didn't need anything else. Since then my lot have nothing but grass all year round, unless we get a long frosty/snowy spell over winter and I will give them additional haylage.
If I bring any of them in for schooling I will give them a little token feed consisting of Happy Hoof, a handful of hi-fibre nuts and a general supplement, but aside from that they get grass only!

I have Pea who's 4 and Sonny who's 3 and they get 1 small scoop of soaked Alfabeet and 2 handfuls of HiFi Lite with a cup of Simple System feed balancer. They are out on grass during the day and in at night with a 4 kg net of hay. Pea looks 'very well'!!! and Sonny about right. Bev.

I keep it as simple as possible. Up until now they have had grass only unless they are working ponies. We are feeding our own hay when they are in and just this week we have begun feeding the non working ones with a few grass nuts, hifi lite and carrots only, token feeds really. The ridden ones get a little more depending on what they are doing, but it's still the same feeds.

Boo is 3 and has a token feed as he was turned out and got a bit fat so is now slim again. Squirrel is 6 and growing at moment and fed on hi fi lite, oats and lo cal and is about to go onto simple systems alfa cubes which balance nicely with oats. He is in quite hard work as is in schooling at moment as about to start dressage.

Mine that live out get adlib haylage usually by now but its been so mild the grass is still growing so they get a pile each at night. I only give buckets if they look like they need it but they do have mineral licks out. Amber gets a token feed of the allen and page intolerance diet a small scoop a handful of happy hoof to mix in her cortaflex and mud x. Henry gets more food than a racehorse because hes scrawny hes on 3 kg of baileys no 4 1 kg of top spec conditioning flake 1 kg alfa oil and a scoop of sugar beet thats a day not per feed!, plus adlib best that money can buy haylage, and hes still a scrawny 2 yr old welsh sec A colt!!

Breeze at 18 months or so is getting recommended amount of baileys balancer with a tiny bit of chaff now it is getting colder and a bit of speedibeet more to soak the pellets than anything else and a biggish splash of soya oil because of his dodgy skin and coat. Mum and dad are getting the same with less oil but Breeze also has about 4 acres of extra grass because he spends most of his time on the opposite side of the leccy fence in the winter grazing! I have to say that they are all looking really good on the balancer, I dithered about them having anything as 'hard feed' yet but am glad I put them on it. I havent started putting hay out yet because there is still loads of grass but they will have it ad lib when I start.

Both of my two foals are out 24/7 and are on one hard feed a day. Rory is nearly 7 months and he gets stud mix and pink powder. He only gets fed really to get the pink powder because the little porker doesnt need it! Kirk is nearly 6 months and just been weaned and he is abit weaker than rory so he gets stud mix, sugar beet and pink powder.

when they are in, they are on hay. Now the grass has gone, (literally until they move into a different field when Michael has finished the fencing). They get a hard feed twice a day as well as they are in at tnight now. This consists of hifi lite, grass nuts, bran and carrots. Not massive amounts.
In fact, all mine are fed the same, in differing quantities according to their weight and work load.

Ozzie is 18 months and Roo is 16 months. They are out in the day (but there is little grass in field) They get 2 feeds a day consisting of molly chop, stud mix, meadow mix, codlevine and limestone. They get a haynet at night (haylage). Amount depends on weight, since there isn't much grass they do get quite a bit, but it will be cut down as the grass starts growing.
