Whoops! Sorry to send you on a search..... I simply meant a dry socket IS a Fate worse than death. I swilled the stupid saltwater as per instructions being ultra, ultra careful, and accidentally dislodged the bloodclot. I went through the entire jar of pain meds in one day and was on the dentist's doorstep demanding more in the more. He laughed and said it was becaused I'd gotten a dry socket, which means the nerve ending of the tooth is exposed to the air....no pain med known to man will really relieve it. What he did was make me come back to the chair and he soaked some gauze with something (anesthetic I bet) and then made me stay put for another 1/2 hour. He said if I wasn't feeling better by then they'd try something else.... Like what? Shoot me? Luckily, the dentist was correct and the gauze acted like a bandaide for my poor tooth, and I was sent home with another bottle of meds. Oh I remember, it was Lorcet Plus that I took fdb.rxlist.com/drugs/drug-3452-lorcet+plus+oral.aspx?drugid=3452&drugname=lorcet+plus+oral The generics didn't work nearly half as good as the real stuff! Seriously hope you're feeling better by now And Van, now that I've totally hijacked your thread....Is Merls gaining condition yet??

After a very long chat with the nutritionist at Alan and page and spillers not to mention a few others, I have put Merls back on calm and condition and I am giving him blue chip feed balancer as well its early days Deb, but I have noticed a difference in him already so fingers crossed.

I must say after looking at the Blue Chip feeds, I love the look of them!! I truly appreciate how they support the GI system to help the pony gain the absolute most from their feeds.
Is he gaining condition without the fizz??

Just a quick upate, Merls seems much happier with his feed since adding blue chip, he is still a bit picky at times but there is a noticeable difference in him and he seems to find it much more palitable.

In case anyone else is looking for good conditioning feeds,my friends fussy thin elderly TB has recently started looking great on 2 cups a day of Falcon feeds Omega Rice. When that ran out she moved to Outshine and that has kept the weight on him.As he also decided he liked low calorie Hoofkind as his mixer it really must have been the feeds that put the weight on him,and he doesnt have to eat much to have the effect it works for him,as he sometimes wont eat bigger feeds.... He has been a revelation to me,having always had horses that would literally eat anything and as much as they could squeeze into their stomachs.....
