Whohoo! At least one of us is partying for the New Year. I can't be fussed either, so do a bit of dancing for me Olivia I tend to be an early to bed gal, so New Year's has always been a struggle for me to stay awake. Some years I make it though. Have fun on your New Year's Day ride, Van

We are staying in watching TV too. I alway feel that everyone else is out having a good time on new years eve, but the times we have gone out have been awful. I hope to get up early on news years day and go for a long ride.

We don't normally do anything but have been invited this year to a New Year's Eve party at a local private girl's school. We will be with the usual local bunch we socialise with so hopefully it will be a good evening, although I really don't do discos any more!

Well my plans for a really quiet boring night may have gone out the window, as Bexs who rides Cheryl,s sox has asked if she can stay the night so she will be here ready for the hunt on New years day and Cheryl and Lynette have said they will call in for a quick drink and have a look at our Christmas ride pics, poor Tony will be well and truly out numbered bless him lol.

I'm another one staying in LOL. I always think the traditional Scottish New Year actually translates into the following: 1) Stand around in the street for hours, usually in filthy weather, waiting for the bells since all the pubs close early. 2) Snog a lot of strangers acquiring huge amounts of secondhand alcohol (although it does at least warm you up after all that standing around...) 3) Walk halfway round Edinburgh looking for a mythical party being held by a friend of a friend at which everyone is welcome. 4) Several hours - and many miles - later give up and decide to get the free night bus home. 5) Discover that everyone else has given up precisely 10 minutes before you and the queues are several miles long. 6) Realise that standing in the queue waiting is going to mean hanging around in the cold for hours, possibly having to snog a lot more very drunk strangers (not from choice this time) and possibly getting into a fight for the last place on the bus so 7) Give up and just walk home. The final insult is that the following day in order to justify all this masochism (and to explain away the stiff-legged walk from all that standing/walking) you have to tell everyone who didn't go what a fabulous fun-packed night you had....Give me the sofa, the telly and the OH any day!!!

We're being boring too. Andy's on call so we'll just have a cozy night in. I doubt we'll stay up to see the New Year in - I just hope there aren'tt oo many fireworks.

If I had my way the bells would go unheard as I would be in bed! Not to be up here I'm afraid.
We stay up until the bells, when Mike lets off the rifle outside. There are a few round about do the same, so it as a bit, well a bit goosepimply really. Then we go over to his folks to first foot them, have a drink with them, and then we often all go to our other neighbour down the road, but she lost her husband recently so may not want us.
On New Years Day we go to the folks for a late lunch and then sleep!!
