I have found the best brush ever www.thesaddleshop.co.uk if you look under grooming products at the bottom of the second page. It is fantastic on both Dannys tail and Duke mane which are the thickest I know.

Well, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I've also got one of these and I can't get on with it at all. It breaks far too many hairs however careful I try and be. I still find the best way is to use my fingers and a standard body brush for the tail. I do like the Oster mane comb for the mane and feathers though.

I love the mane and tail brush. I am looking for another hoof pick as I want one with more of a "pointy" end to get the small stones out of D's white line (she is barefoot). Would this one fit the bill?

This looks very much like a dog brush that I use for the ponies - does it have a combination of short bristles and longer plastic ones? If so I agree it is the best brush I've used.

I tend to use a wide toothed comb for manes and tails and fingers too but always use conditioner sprayed on first to stop the hair breaking.
Linda - try one of the hoof picks with a brush attached too, they have a lovely pointy pick bit for little stones.

Yes - this is what I have been using on Merlin for a couple of years now and I love it - its by far the best for him. I love the hoofpick too (Linda -it does have a pointed end which gets most things out, but I also keep a mini-multitool with a screwdriver on it in my grooming box for really embedded stones and grit )

I was lucky enough to be bought the whole oster grooming kit for my birthday a year ago, they are all fantastic, especially the mane and tail brush and the hoof pick. The comb is good as well.
