That the only stallion available to AI is Dartdale Peterboy, Ihave always loved him, the problem I have is that I am very reluctant to travel Perrywinkle again as it was so stressful for her, and luckily one of my closest friends is a qualified AI so I think its the best route for Twinkle. When I emailed Jo I thought there would,nt be that many available, but it seems there is only one, luckily for me it is the handsome Peterboy.

Let me be proud of myself. I knew that one! Bloomingdales Farm in the US has his AI agreement too!

We need to get more stallions in the UK doing AI. This will enhance things for the breed worldwide.

I think AI would be the only way I'd get Olivia in foal too Van! Lucky you having a friend who can do it - I can imagine the cost from our vets

We should have our young stallion, Colliery Bill, and Raygill William, if he is still fertile, available by AI this year. I'm hoping to offer fresh, chilled and frozen. It would be great if we can get some viable semen from William.
I'm about to train to become a licenced inseminator and we are getting ourselves set up to be able to collect, evaluate and store semen and to inseminate mares.
I've no idea what the demand is likely to be, but we wanted to do it for ourselves anyway and thought that people who didn't want to travel their mare or maybe those in the USA would be interested.

Oooo that's great Maggie , it might be the way to go for Leia as she doesn't seem keen to stand very well for the stallion. I hope Raygill William is still producing the goods

haha My mare had a picture of Peter Boy on her stable wall with xxx's all over it.... sadly she ate it one day - I'm SURE it was loves him sooooooo much! I would think that AI is something that studs could consider,I can't imagine the ££ is much of an advantage but with regard to stress/travelling costs/spread of cough, colds etc, it must be worth looking into and could do wonders for the breed(?)
