Su was due to foal on 29 June and giving no sign of being early, so imagine our suprise when we went to check the mares tonight and found this  he was already a few hours old, had suckled and knows what's what  and has donkey ears, just like Mum LOL  little bay colt with a small star and one white foot. No name yet, that may take some time! All this fine weather we've had and the Mum without a brain cell chooses to give birth in an all-day rainstorm  |

Whoops! Su that's not very nice to test the sturdiness of your babe from the moment she drops  Silly girl! Awwwhhhh, but she's lovely, and clever to boot!! Just look at her....  Makes me want to give her a big ole hug. What chunky legs too! What does Su think? I bet she's chuffed to bits ~ I know I would be! |

I've edited the original post as I got hold of foalie for the first time on Friday and discovered that she was a HE - a little colt! My excuse for my initial error was that it was dark and pouring down and I was having a panic attack LOL! It's made the name easier - it had to have a watery connection, so he's Maidendale Jack Sparrow Since he arrived, the rain hasn't stopped!  He's Su's second baby too |
