Oh Jo! I'm so sorry! What a bloody awful day. I think these ponies are a bit like kids. The maxim I have always had with kids is that I don't ask them to do anything I can't MAKE them do. That way they get used to obeying me. LOL! I think you are right to just leave WH and concentrate on stuff you both enjoy. I bet you will do a WH again in the future when other work has progressed positivley for a while. Thinking about it, that's what has happened with my D. Let's face it - I couldn't even hack her down the road a while ago. The only reason she did so well at the PS is that we have put 6 years of work in doing stuff we CAN do and perfecting it. It won't take you anywhere NEAR as long as 6 years as you are light years ahead of me. You WILL so WH hunter courses with D one day - AND you will both enjoy it. Just not in the very near future! LOL! Please have a drink tonight - and I'll have a bottle too - and I'll say cheers - and so can you!

LOL - thanks Linda! I have a very substantial drowning of sorrows last night - but what the hell, I wouldnt like you to think that I wasnt participating - so I will happily replenish my glass for this evening - in the spirit of things obviously!!! LOL I actually had a bit of a thick head this morning - will make sure I wash a pint of water down with it tonight!!!

I know about the organisation!!! Shame you didnt do cob as there were only 2 in it!! To say its so close to us its rare I go. Im going to try and do some stressage this winter, at least we have times. If Mill Lane run any beginners jumping days again you should go- they are really good fun, everyone is really supportive and the jumps get lowered/ demolished to get round. Plus you get an "oops" rosette PML

Don't get downhearted Jo, You need to go to something very small that you can almost walk/trot over to get your (and Dancers) confidence back.
I sometimes think that even at some shows they say 'novice class' - for some of us its still too high - and I know they put the jumps down but only after you've made such a complete arse of it you don;t really want to carry on but know you have to and it ruins the whole thing.
Hope your finger is ok - get to casualty and get it strapped up!

Aim for the WH class at the Performance Show next year, Jo. That way everyone will be willing Dancer over every jump. Positive vibes, girl!! And lots of wine.
Hope the pinky is okay

Thanks all! I may consider it again at the PS next year - but probably not! Leann - I havent been that livid in a long time!! The little But - at least I can say I tried. I may go to Mill Lane if they do the small jumping Emily to try and get a bit of joint confidence back in the 'team', as Alison suggested.

"Hmmm - sounds like he needs to do this sort of thing more often....."
Sorry, I could not resist quoting - it is what people used to tell me after epic or embarassing episodes with my childhood pony who could be relied upon to show me up! Hope your finger is getting better!!
