I'm after more showing advice again...I'm sorry!!! Jay and I did our 1st show just over a week ago and I enjoyed it so much I've entered another one this sunday! Unfortunately we couldn't enter the M+M classes again because they've got to be registered...sigh. So, with some advice from the secretary we've gone for the 'Total Care Award' thingy, ridden cob type, riding club horse, an in-hand class for anything over 14.2 and the M+M working hunter. We're going to have a busy day! I was worried about being able to control him if he got really excited at the other show, so I got a pelham to try him in beforehand. I think he went really well in it at the show and I felt more comfortable knowing I'd definately have brakes! Is it ok to use the pelham in each of these classes, except the inhand, or should I be using his snaffle? I've not jumped using 2 reins before so it could be interesting! ;D Also, I know I should really be showing him in a flat noseband. I love his bridle (black + brass buckles, from stubben economy range ;D) but I guess I should probably get him a plainer one for showing. Do you have any suggestions? I don't really want to spend loads of money, but don't want something thats really poor quality. Thanks again for all the great advice you've all given me so far!

Jumping with 2 reins!!!! Hhhhmm - I would maybe pop my snaffle back in for that! You will be in the ring by yourself anyway, so you wont have any of this canter as a group milarky!!! I cant see why you cant use the pelham in any of the classes though. Unless it stipulates snaffle bridle (which some do), you should be fine! As for your tack - I, personally would give it a polish and use what I have got! I dont like D is the flat stuff, which is why he always wears the rolled type leather. I certainly wouldnt invest in another bridle for the occasion. If it fits, is clean and tidy - I would use it. Thats my personal choice though! LOL I knw some wouldnt dream of using it in the ring! I dont compete at a high enough level to stress that much about it! LOL Good luck - let us know how you get on!!!

was my reaction to the idea to jumping with 2 reins! I think its potential for disaster! ;D The working hunter class is in the afternoon anyway, so hopefully he'll be acclimatised by then and be kind to me! Thats great news about his bridle....I'll save my pennies. His current one looks very smart and I think it suits him, so I'll stick with that. Thanks again for the advice. You're a lifesaver! Will definately let you know how we get on. I'm hoping for better weather this time...last time we picnic'd alongside Jay in his trailer to get out of the rain. Was forever picking hay out of my butties! ;D
