finally got time to put on a thread myself. for anyone not up to date we took sam to the show yesterday but he fell in the trailer on route so wasn't rideable when we got there. he is fine now and a few days off should put him right. we still managed to have some fun, meet some super people saw some fab ponies and witnessed some class riding.

i would like to show my appreciation and thank some amazing dalesfans. firstly jill and dave for taking us the show and to bow for putting up with clumsy sam, penny our night in shining armour for helping us sort sams foot out on arrival and who just seemingly knew what to do. and to alison who showed so much kindness by giving up tinker for fran to ride. you'll all know what i mean when i say we put so much prep into getting to the show that i thought fran coped really well when she knew she had no pony to ride and tinker just made her feel so much better, in fact she fran wanted to swap her for sam by the end of the day. i think tinker being so cool with the hand pony is what clinched it. also a big thank you to all those who popped in on sam from time to time , some i didn't even get their names.

so we look forward to having a year to prepare for the next one. we have to go as fran has promised to 'kick butt' with nic in the 'OPEN' jumping. now there's a challenge.

for those who hav'nt been before there does seem to be a large number of 'drunk riders'. but didn't recognise any of them lol

Karen, you are most welcome. It is a case of "there by the Grace of God go..." - it is the sort of thing which can happen to anyone and has happened to me before, hence the knowing what to do. Glad to hear from you today that Sam is indeed OK and mending nicely.

Will tell Nic she has to practice ready for next year's show. Look forward to it - should be entertaining and perhaps we as mums should make sure they are all up to full height just to make it a little harder?

Karen, I am so glad Sam is ok and on the mend! These horses have your heart in your mouth somedays dont they!

Im more than sure that next year Fran will kick a*s - and you ever know - put your request in early and they may put some gymkhana games on for you too!! LOL

It was fab to meet you and have a chat - even if I didnt manage to meet Sam!

Thank goodness Sam is ok, I heard that a pony had been injured, but didn't realised it was Sam, you're another DF I didn't manage to meet - next show maybe

I am sorry that Sam had an accident in the trailer, you must have been parked up near me as I saw some people around a pony but hadn't realised what had happened. I'm glad he's okay, and that Fran got to ride Tinker!

good to hear Sam is on the mend. Sounds like you all coped really well with the fall and with making the most of the day after that. I'm sure you and Fran will be bezzing around on Sam again in no time!

Glad Sam is feeling better and that you enjoyed riding Tink, she was an angel for you and tried really hard.

she is working on jumping with her legs above her head to avoid any mishaps with narrow jumps!
