wow what a good day...well no it didnt start that way!!!!we got up late and had rushed out of the house without so much a drink!dragged sleepy milly out of her stable half asleep in the dark!!!!rushed to get to het where we were loading and.......the other horse we were travelling wouldnt box!!!!so 45 mins later we were off..had an awfull journey behind the trailer watching colin attacking milly all the way, then her head dissapeared,so rung friend driving the trailer,stoppppppp.....poor milly had broken free and got her head and kneck stuck under the bar,am guessing in an attempt to escape evil colin....problem sorted colin tied up tight and off again...arrived with 4 minutes to vetting in time!!!!!
anyway they managed it all and set off.....14 mile competative novice, this is completely new to us and having sort of rushed into it thinking...well we havent had much time to train or prepare but we do live in a very hilly area and the girls often go out for about 6-8 mile jollies,so we were hoping maybe all our hill work was good enough training!!!!!
we waited patiently at the check point....and they never came! well as it happened they did,but too quick for us,and then took a wrong turn so missed the check point altogether!!!!and.....got lost!the next we new they had arrived back at camp having done the 9 mile route!!!!so we rushed back then to find them gone again and the powers that be had sent them off on another 5 miles so they had at least completed their distance! it was like a carry on film....so back eventually in a mild sweat,no big deal milly was apparantly thinking!!!!!anyway ahter the vetting back in thingy, friend went up to hand in tabbards and came rushing back to say quick go up they are giving out results (we had no thoughts whatsoever of coming anywhere!) and guess what???
bethany and milly had come 3rd!!!!!!!!!!
we were very shocked indeed....and sooooooooooooo thrilled.....
so at last we think milly has found her forte!she is so dam laid back,i think endurance may just be the thing for her........ie no problem getting her heart rate back down!!!!!!!
also we saw jo and debbie, and kim......so lots of nice dalesy people to chat too,and everyone seemed to be having such a good time......will now attempt to put a pic on!!!!
i think i have done it...!...the ride was at sherwood pines, and julie with alex (zarazag) was the secretary....
