I took Tom to North Yorkshire County today, where the entries were big despite the hideous weather LOL. However we never got too wet as it turned fine.
I took Tom for the ridden under judge Mrs Morland where he did a good show that I was pleased with and got seventh in quite a big class of open ponies.
I then took him in the in-hand as I dont usually bother with them to be honest but I wanted to practice for the Great Yorkshire and the classes followed on, the judge in the schedule said Mrs D Cockroft, but when we got there it had changed to Mrs C Morland of the Lunesdale Stud, Tom went in and won his class beating a nice fell stallion and a really good highland stallion called Grouse of Langley, he then went in the stallion championship and won that beating the dartmoor breed show champion Oaktree Starstorm.
I was thrilled, he then had to go in against all of the other mountain and moorland sections ie, welsh B welsh A m&m small/large champion and reserves, this time it was under judge Mr R Avery, Tom won this Championship too and then went into the supreme mountain and moorland where all of the ridden champions came forward, Tom also won this!!! We then had a long wait for the supreme of show.....We got Reserve Supreme of Show under Mr Avery and another judge Mr Hendrie. Needless to say I will be doing A LOT more inhand classes from now on. I think I nearly won enough money to cover my diesel bill, which makes a change.
Thrilled with Tom and I got some nice pics that I will post on here if people arent sick of people blowing their own trumpets LOL!
Here they are:
Unfortunately by the time I went in for the class there was nobody to take pictures
with rozzies on but I got some nice pics.
Bless him, he was as good as gold!!
