Again, not really a starter. I make these for any kind of buffet though. Also make great gift of homemade choccies. NO BAKING done. Ideal for Brownies and for children to do. Very very good to eat. Everyone loves these. Best of all.... megga simple to do. Takes about an hour, if your slow.
DEAD easy peasy. I simply leave out the ingredients on the kitchen table and the kids make these now.
YOu will need.
Packet of digestive biccies
Packet of cocoa powder - The real stuff, no added sugar etc
1 Can condensed milk, sweetened.
1 packet dessicated coconut
Lashings of real rum! or brandy if you fancy brandy truffles.
QUarter pint of double cream
Chocolate sprinkles for rolling truffles in.
OK bucket cooking again...
Put digestives into a strong plastic bag or two plastic bags, beat the living daylights out of them and bash them all into crumbs.
Put digestive crumbs into a large bowl.
Add about 4 - 6 oz of cocoa powder and the entire packet of dessicated coconut.
Open tin of condensed milk and without eating any of it... (difficult I know) pour the rest.... lol you couldnt resist could you, into the bowl.
Mix together all the ingredients. Add generous splashes of alcohol such us rum, whisky or brandy what ever is your favourite.
Add cream if the mixture seems a bit dry, you need a mildly tacky mixture.
Now the fun bit.
Take spoonfuls of the lovely choccie mixture. About 1 teaspoon at a time. Roll into a round ball. Then roll into the chocolate sprinkles. Put into a tiny peti four case.
This mixture will give you 30 - 50 truffles depending on your level of bucketing it! Also depending on how well you leave the mixture well alone!
Keep in a cool fridge or cool place. They keep.... about 3 days max.
Enjoy...
Yep another of my mothers favourites.
If you want it for the children. Leave out the lovely lovely rum bit.
