Well, its that time of year I suppose. My super dooper brother is coming to us for Christmas this year. I normally use those wee mulling bags for mulled wine. But brother is a real 'foodie'. Any one got a tried and tested home made reicpe for this.
I dont mind doing a taste test!

Iv done my own using cinnamon sticks, ginger, nutmeg and cloves (as much as you like) and I put sliced orange and lemon in. I put the sugar in when its warmed in the pan and probably put around 3 tablespoons in. LOL, sorry I dont have measured stuff but keep tasting it until you like it lol!

I make mulled wine with a bottle of red, a carton of fresh orange, lots of sugar dissolved in it (prob nearly half a bag, I like it sweet!), then I add cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger and simmer it for ages, near half an hour. THEN I add a good slosh of brandy just to give it a boost(!) and slice some apple and orange into it as well. Yum.
