Just noticed that there is nothing in here, and so because my nature abhors a vacuum ;D will just have to post my top tips (not really mine but things I have read that have stuck in my mind).
The first is from a top classical dressage trainer - can't find it again or remember who - the penalty of always trying to read 3 books at the same time, but the bones of it were-
"Have the courage to let your young horse poke it's nose,(when ridden) until it finds the balance and strength to do otherwise".
The second is from Alois Podhajsky, former Director of the Spanish Riding School, in the fabulous book "My Horses, My Teachers":
"Forward is always the best remedy".
If anybody is interested I can tell them, in another section, how I cured Jack of violent spooking (accompanied by much bucking and f@rting - thankfully on the lunge before I backed him) using that tip!!
