They came this week and today Tony fitted them for me, I was pleasantly surprised as my walls are very uneven but they were quite easy to fit, it was so funny though I filled both of them with hay and brought Tommy and Merls in, Tommy had a little spook at them but after one sniff was happily munching from them, Merls on the other hand won,t go any where near it and just keeps snorting at it  what are they like! |

 Maybe leave Merls a little haytrail over the top. I'm sure he'll love it once he realizes his food's in there. I bet your hands and arms are relieved by them!!

i have one for dave....because last year he kept mounting his haynet!! uhhummm. he was rather unimpressed when he first saw it and back heeled it a couple of times! he did fine with it for a couple of months then started to scoop the hay out all over his bed, which made mucking out a NIGHTMARE! so we are now back on the haynet, that im pleased to say he doesn't "fancy" at the moment!! LOL van, dave is unique [roflmao] so im not saying your ponies will remove the hay the same as he did!  |

Oh? Ick!!! I had a kitten ages ago that used to fancy his stuffed toys. At least Dave shows what a haybar can hold up to.  Fingers crossed the amorous ideas with the haynet have passed. Lord can you imagine if he'd snagged his willy !! |

Visions of Dave and his haynet! The one thing that is putting me off getting a haybar for Quest is that I suspect he would root about and turf all the hay out to sort through leaving me a lovely mess to clear up in the morning. Also, if Harvs dared go into his stable with a haybar in (which he probably wouldn't) I expect he would attack it. He once went in a stable with one of those stable mirrors in and went completely beserk trying to kill it. I would never have thought my Harvs could be so aggressive - it was quite terrifying to witness. |

Harvey?  ? I wonder what on earth he was thinking with the mirror?? LOL...I told Eldon if Dave had snagged his willy, they would have come out to a noise and discovered half the stable block destroyed. Probably put him off 'women' for a bit too  It does amaze me the things they can get themselves into! What does Merls think of his haybar Van? Has he forgiven it for frightening him yet?? |

lol I reckon he said to the strange horse in his stable "don't come near my haynet or else...." and the horse replied "don't come near my haynet or else...." He likes to be near the mirror in Irene's school but obviously not in a confined space. He attacked it with his front legs and teeth and wouldn't back down until I covered the mirror with a sheet. I talked to the people at De Montford Uni who had been coducting trials on these mirrors and they had come across only 2 other horses who acted like this - both were stallions in the US and both had difficult backgrounds - Harvey is a gelding who has been pampered most of his life.  |

Hell Pam that sounds scary, I must remember never to put a mirror in Merls stable as I dread to think what would happen.
Last night he was much better with it, I brought Merls and Tommy in last night as the weather was really bad and he was happily munching out of it when I left.

Oh good, Van, stomachs won out in the end! ;D I got the mirror for Quest when he had to be confined for a long period in his small stable and it worked very well for him. But he is a naturally sociable horse where as Harvey certainly isn't. |

I was trying to visualise the attraction - all I can say is never go near him wearing fishnet stockings Quest is a naturally sociable horse where as Harvey certainly isn't. Is James any relation to Harvey do you think? |
