Yartleton Liquorice Section B 14.2 gelding rising 10 needs someone to love him and care for him, he is an affectionate, eager to please pony, a little green for his age but has just had a wonderful season hunting on Exmoor with my daughter while she worked at www.rockleyfarm.co.uk. I am not in a position to look after him anymore, so I need to entrust him to someone who can keep him or find him a new home. My daughter finishes work the end of this month, returns to uni to carry on with her vet studies and then has her own pony to look after, a Welsh C rescue that is not re homeable due to not liking people enough. Birdie on the other hand adores people. He just needs a job to do-I am happy to give him to anyone who will keep him out most of the time with other horses, keep him barefoot, (he has had no trouble hunting up and down Exmoor's stony tracks) and ride him or find him another home where he will have a job, live in a little herd or atleast with some company, and be kept barefoot. He had a late start in his training as we thought we were doing something wrong or he was a bit slow to learn, we had various highly recommended trainers out and in the end got a referral to a consultant who diagnosed a minor neck injury, injected his 5th vertebrae with cortisone and said it may last his lifetime or it may need redoing at sometime in the future depending on his workload. For this reason I would not like him to go to a very competitive home. He has been certified as fully fit for general use and had loved his hunting. Before he went to Devon he was uncertain on his own with loud or unusual traffic- lorries, or tractors but since he has been to lots of meets with hunt lorries and has had a quad and trailer work around him everyday while poo picking I imagine he is much improved if not completely over it. He is good to lead from and good to be led off as well as that has been one of his jobs at Rockley-escorting out the rehab horses. Please could someone help me! (see sales advert also but I really don't want to sell him in a hurry or him to go to a rescue-I want him to go to someone known and trusted in the Dales community) All the very best, Fiona
