Sorry everyone, another proud mum moment!
We have had an exhausting weekend at Myerscough with the Ponies UK Winter Championships! Overall it was not as busy as I had anticipated it may be, but as usual the M&M classes were large
Joanne went on Saturday and was in the Llanarth Novice Ridden in which she came precisely nowhere. She was a little reserved and that is typical of Joanne: she is a very quiet pony. However I am very pleased with her as in spite of her lack of spark she did absolutely nothing wrong and went nicely. Later in the day she was 3rd in LS Amateur Riders and this time gave Nic a more confident ride which looked lovely. She also trotted out inhand very well indeed, she really seems to enjoy that bit.
On Sunday it was Aster's turn!
First Class was the Llanarth Open. Aster was in the middle section, Fells, Highlands, Dales, Connemara and NF. The entries had been so large, they had split the C's and D's. Anyway, still 24 in the ring and not really enough room! Anyway, Aster came nowhere, but she went well and we had no complaints about her at all.
Later, Junior Ridden, Nic pulled in 2nd place and so into the Evening Performance.
Last class of the day, M&M Amateur Riders, not a small class either! Pulled in to top six again! So, another evening performance!
All classes of the day had been completed by 3.15pm and so it was quite a wait for the evening performances, not enough time to enable us to come home and go back, so we settled in for a long wait!
Our first EP was at 6.15, the junior ridden and Aster loved it! She gave a fab gallop and got a wonderful cheer! Still well behaved though. Final result, the first placed large breed won the champ, reserve was the winner of the Small Breed Section, then Nic as 2nd reserve! We were very pleased! Just to be in the EP was brilliant, the sash a bonus.
15 minutes later, Aster and Nic were back in the ring for the results of the AM rider class and in this she was Reserve Champion! Another wonderful sash and another wonderful gallop!
Well done Nic and Aster - mum is very proud again :woo: :thumb: :woo:
